Moore or less

A sure-fire sign I'm never going to get into The Horrors: I don't like them even when they're accompanied by Thurston Moore on guitar. Moore's latest release, a single called 'Detonation', is a disappointment relative to his last solo album and the Chelsea Light Moving record, but it's still superior to the tuneless dirge of 'I Can See You'.

The performance with The Horrors took place at the Fly Awards, at which Moore was presented with their Living Legend accolade by one of his inspirations, Richard Hell. His acceptance speech is here, and this also gives me an excuse to link again to his favourite 38 songs of all time, which proved a fascinating voyage of discovery for me.
